Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium russet potatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or melted butter)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or any other spices/herbs for extra flavor
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Potatoes
- Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt.
- Pat them dry with a towel.
- Use a fork to poke holes all over the potatoes (6-8 times) to allow steam to escape while cooking.
Step 2: Season the Potatoes
- Rub the potatoes with olive oil or melted butter to coat them evenly.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper over the potatoes. For added flavor, you can sprinkle some garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
Step 3: Air Fry the Potatoes
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry the potatoes for 35-40 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time.
- Check if the potatoes are done by inserting a fork or knife into the center. If it slides in easily, the potatoes are done.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!
- Once the potatoes are done, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute or two.
- Slice them open, fluff the insides with a fork, and add your favorite toppings like butter, sour cream, cheese, or bacon.
Notes
- Even Cooking: Make sure the potatoes are not overcrowded in the air fryer basket to allow air to circulate and cook them evenly.
- For Extra Crispy Skin: If you love a crispier skin, you can increase the temperature to 425°F (220°C) for the last 5-10 minutes.
- Cook Time Variance: Depending on the size of the potatoes, you might need to adjust the cooking time. Larger potatoes may require a bit more time, so keep an eye on them.
