Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (5 oz) tuna in water, drained

  • ½ cup cottage cheese (small curd recommended)

  • 2 tbsp plain Greek yogurt or light mayo (optional for added creaminess)

  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp red onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp dill pickle or relish (optional, for tang)

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tsp lemon juice (brightens the flavor)

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or dill, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Base

  1. In a medium bowl, flake the drained tuna with a fork to break it into small pieces.

  2. Add the cottage cheese and Greek yogurt (if using). Mix until creamy and well blended.

Step 2: Add Flavor & Crunch

  1. Stir in the chopped celery, red onion, pickle or relish, and Dijon mustard.

  2. Season with garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well.

Step 3: Taste & Adjust

  1. Taste the salad and adjust seasonings—add more mustard, salt, or lemon juice as desired.

  2. Garnish with fresh parsley or dill if using.

Step 4: Serve

  1. Serve immediately or chill for 30 minutes for the flavors to meld.

  2. Enjoy it in lettuce wraps, on toast, in sandwiches, or with whole grain crackers.

Notes

Use Small Curd Cottage Cheese – It blends better and gives the best texture.
Drain Tuna Well – Excess liquid can make the salad watery.
Mix in Advance – Let it chill for 20–30 minutes to deepen flavor.
Make It Creamier – Add a tablespoon of mayo or Greek yogurt if you like a richer texture.
Add Extra Crunch – Chopped cucumber, bell peppers, or shredded carrots work well.
