Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix (or any cake mix of your choice)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pastel-colored M&Ms (or regular M&Ms)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup white chocolate chips for extra sweetness

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal, or grease it with cooking spray.

Step 2: Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until everything is well incorporated into a dough-like consistency.

Step 3: Fold in M&Ms

Gently fold in 3/4 cup of the pastel M&Ms (or all if you prefer) and optional white chocolate chips. Mix until evenly distributed.

Step 4: Bake the Bars

Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking dish. Top with the remaining M&Ms.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (slightly sticky is fine since they’re meant to be soft).

Step 5: Cool & Slice

Allow the cookie bars to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting them into squares.

Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Don’t Overbake: Since cake mix bars can dry out quickly, be sure to check them at 20 minutes to ensure they don’t overbake.
  • Customize the Toppings: Feel free to swap out the M&Ms for chocolate chips, Easter sprinkles, or even crushed Easter candies for variety.

  • For Extra Moisture: Add a tablespoon of sour cream to the dough for even more softness and moisture.
