  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Tacos:

  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas

  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Beef

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks (about 5-7 minutes).
  4. Stir in honey, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Let it simmer for another 3-5 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine. Remove from heat.

Step 2: Warm the Tortillas

  1. Heat a dry pan over medium heat and warm each tortilla for 30 seconds per side until soft and lightly toasted.
  2. Keep them covered with a towel to stay warm.

Step 3: Assemble the Tacos

  1. Add a generous spoonful of the beef mixture to each tortilla.
  2. Sprinkle with cheese, diced tomatoes, red onion, and fresh cilantro.
  3. Drizzle with sour cream if desired and serve with lime wedges for a burst of freshness.

Tips for Success

Crispy Option: Lightly toast the tortillas in a buttered skillet for extra crispiness.
Spice It Up: Add jalapeños, hot sauce, or a pinch of cayenne for more heat.
