Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Butter Honey BBQ Beef:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce (smoky or sweet-style)

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional for a touch of tang)

For the Tacos:

  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas, warmed

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce or coleslaw mix

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro

  • Sliced jalapeños (optional for heat)

  • Lime wedges, for serving

  • Sour cream, ranch, or chipotle mayo for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Sauté Garlic in Butter
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, stirring constantly to avoid burning.

Step 2: Cook the Beef
Add ground beef to the skillet with the garlic butter.
Season with onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Cook for 7–8 minutes, breaking the meat apart until browned and cooked through.

Step 3: Add Honey BBQ Sauce
Lower heat and stir in the BBQ sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and vinegar (if using).
Simmer for 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.

Step 4: Warm the Tortillas
While the beef simmers, warm your tortillas in a dry pan, microwave, or low oven.
Wrap them in a clean towel to keep warm and soft.

Step 5: Assemble the Tacos
Fill each tortilla with a generous spoonful of the honey BBQ beef.
Top with lettuce or slaw, shredded cheese, jalapeños, and fresh cilantro.
Finish with a drizzle of sour cream or ranch, and a squeeze of lime juice.

Notes

Use Quality BBQ Sauce – A smoky-sweet BBQ base gives rich depth.
Balance the Sweetness – The honey adds sweetness, but the vinegar adds tang to keep it balanced.
Don’t Skip the Garlic Butter – It’s the flavor foundation of this recipe.
Toast the Tortillas – A quick toast enhances texture and adds flavor.
Customize Toppings – Add avocado slices, pickled onions, or crushed tortilla chips for crunch.
