Step 1: Preheat & Prep
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Line a 12-cup cupcake pan with paper liners.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Step 3: Cream Butter & Sugar
4. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
Step 4: Add Soda & Sour Cream
6. Mix in the grape soda and sour cream until just combined.
7. Add a few drops of purple food coloring if you want a more vibrant purple batter.
Step 5: Combine Wet & Dry Ingredients
8. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing just until no dry streaks remain.
9. Be careful not to overmix to keep the cupcakes soft and fluffy.
Step 6: Fill & Bake
10. Spoon the batter evenly into cupcake liners, filling each about ⅔ full.
11. Bake for 16–18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

14. Gradually add powdered sugar, ½ cup at a time.
15. Pour in grape soda and vanilla extract. Mix until frosting is fluffy and spreadable.
16. Add purple food coloring if desired and mix again until evenly tinted.
Step 8: Frost & Decorate
17. Once cupcakes are cool, frost them using a piping bag or a butter knife.
18. Add sprinkles, candy, or your favorite decorations on top.
Notes
Use Room-Temperature Ingredients – They mix better and give a smoother batter.
Don’t Overmix – Stop mixing once the flour disappears to keep cupcakes soft.
Let Them Cool – Always let cupcakes cool fully before frosting.
Customize the Color – Adjust food coloring to get your perfect shade of purple.
Switch Up the Soda – Try orange or lemon-lime soda for a flavor twist.
