Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
- 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional, for binding)
- 1 egg (optional, for extra binding)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Burger Mixture
- In a large bowl, mix together ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, garlic, salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, and Dijon mustard.
- If the mixture feels too wet, add breadcrumbs and egg to help bind the patties.
Step 2: Shape the Patties
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Place patties on a plate and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to firm up (optional but helps with cooking).
Step 3: Cook the Burgers
Stovetop Method:
5. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
6. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Grill Method:
7. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
8. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side until fully cooked.
Step 4: Assemble & Serve
- Serve on toasted buns with toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion, and extra white cheddar.
- Add condiments such as garlic aioli, honey mustard, or spicy mayo for extra flavor.
Notes
Don’t Overmix – Mix just until combined to keep the patties tender.
Use Fresh Spinach – Chop it finely so it blends well into the patties.
Melt Extra Cheese on Top – For an extra cheesy bite.
Cook on Medium Heat – Prevents the patties from drying out.
